Terms of Service

1. Who we are

OwlPath is a trading name of Forge Gate Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17196398. References to “OwlPath”, “we”, “us”, or “our” in these Terms refer to Forge Gate Limited.

We provide an online career coaching platform that analyses how your CV matches a specific job description and provides suggestions to improve your application. The platform is available at owl-path.com and related subdomains (the “Service”).

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3. Nature of the Service — important limitations

OwlPath provides informational and advisory tools only. Specifically:

• Match scores, CV suggestions, cover letter outputs, and all other outputs generated by the Service are advisory in nature. They are not a guarantee or prediction of any hiring outcome.
• We make no representation that using the Service will result in an interview, a job offer, or employment. Hiring decisions are made entirely by third-party employers whose processes are beyond our knowledge or control.
• The Service is not a recruitment agency or employment agency. We have no relationship with any employer referenced in job descriptions you submit.
• Outputs, including CV suggestions and cover letter drafts, should be reviewed and verified by you before use. You are responsible for the accuracy of any materials you submit to employers.
• Match scores are generated by automated analysis and may not reflect how a specific employer evaluates applications. They are a guide, not a definitive assessment.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on any output generated by the Service.

4. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@owl-path.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must provide accurate information when registering. We may suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Free plan

The Free plan is available at no charge subject to the usage limits on our pricing page. We may modify or discontinue the Free plan with reasonable notice.

Paid plans and free trials

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Where a free trial is offered, your payment card is collected at signup but no charge is made until the trial ends. Cancelling before the trial ends incurs no charge.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.

Refunds

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel a digital service from the date of purchase, unless you have already begun using it. By actively using the Service after subscribing, you acknowledge that this cancellation right may not apply.

Outside of statutory rights, fees are non-refundable. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at legal@owl-path.com within 30 days.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. You may cancel before the change takes effect if you do not wish to accept it.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

• Submit or generate fraudulent, misleading, or fabricated employment information
• Bulk-generate application materials for automated job applications
• Scrape or harvest data from the platform using automated means
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our source code or algorithms
• Resell or commercially exploit any Service outputs without written consent
• Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
• Use the Service in any way that violates UK law or regulation

7. Intellectual property

Your content

You retain ownership of all CV text, job descriptions, and content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service to you.

Service outputs

Analysis outputs, suggestions, and cover letter drafts are provided for your personal use in connection with your own job search. You may not resell or commercialise outputs.

Our platform

All intellectual property rights in the OwlPath platform — software, design, methodology, and branding — belong to Forge Gate Limited or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any such rights to you.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage, including loss of profits or loss of opportunity, arising from your use of the Service.
• Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

9. Service availability and changes to these Terms

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice for material changes to paid plans.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
